FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Structural enhancements result in longer filter life

MINNEAPOLIS, January 15, 2002 — Donaldson High Purity Products, a division of the Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI) that designs and manufactures air filters for the aviation industry, today announced that it has received FAA-PMA approval on its improved HEPA cabin air recirculation filters for B767-200 and B767-300 airplanes.

The Donaldson filters meet all FAA air-worthiness specifications and are manufactured to meet or exceed all critical requirements such as efficiency (99.97% removal of 0.3micron particles), life, weight and Skydrol® resistance. The recommended service interval is one C-Check.

Parts numbered P512762 for B767-200 and P512763 for B767-300 offer increased structural performance and longer life over Donaldson 4A models (P199762 and P199763). In laboratory testing the new filters maintained structural and operational integrity, even under extreme loading conditions. The design enhancements do not affect fit, form or function and the improved filters are completely interchangeable with the 4A Donaldson filters.

Donaldson Company also offers FAA-PMA approved filters for B767-200/300 aircraft for smoking sections, work stations and vacuum lavatory air compressors.
