FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 17 — With more streamlined designs, stricter exhaust emissions regulations and increased horsepower, today's heavy equipment and truck engines are running hotter in a more confined amount of space. To meet manufacturers' demand for a compact, high-performance air filtration solution, Donaldson Company is introducing its Donaldson PowerCore™ filtration technology. This advanced media technology is currently being targeted toward new off-road equipment and heavy-duty trucking intake applications. As an alternative to larger-sized conventional filters, Donaldson PowerCore's straight-through airflow and high-density filtration system reduces system restriction and extends filter life, reducing overall maintenance costs.

Donaldson PowerCore is noticeably different in shape, color and style. Its compact, metal-free, cartridge-style design traps contaminants inside its structure for cleaner and easier servicing. Donaldson PowerCore uses Donaldson's RadialSeal™ technology, providing the most advanced and reliable seal possible. To date, 27 patents around the world cover Donaldson PowerCore filtration technology.

"Larger, conventional filters require clearance space for proper air flow. They also have a hollow center to allow the filtered air to exit to the engine," said Marty Barris, director of air filtration, Donaldson Company. "Donaldson PowerCore eliminates the need for these wasted spaces by combining high-density filter media packaging with a straight-through flow design. The combination results in significant size reduction options which other filtration technologies can't offer."

Because of its shape options and smaller size, the Donaldson PowerCore air intake systems have more mounting options than conventional filters. An intake system designed with Donaldson PowerCore media technology can utilize options such as a secondary seal, protective wraps, and safety filter to enable increased airflow and system efficiency for peak performance in all conditions.
